DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION

As leaders in the summer camp industry, WAIC has recognized the importance of bringing a DEI focused lens to our member camps and the broader camp community. During the summer of 2020 a DEI Advisory Committee made up of several WAIC camp owners and directors was formed in order to advise the WAIC Board and Membership. This committee remains dedicated to bringing educational resources and best DEI practices to the forefront our business operations and camp programming.

To support and advise the WAIC Board and Membership in its work towards a more just summer camp community and industry. Through actions that prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion, we hope to be able to achieve structural and organizational change, which positively impacts the experience of people of color and marginalized communities within individual camp organizations.
